We're a very accomodating lot. So accomodating that we're not starting at the Pendle Inn this Saturday until after the footy finishes on foxtel, go figure.
Howdy Folks. Well, that's it. We're officially Hip. Oh No, I said it. Damn. Oh well, we were hip for a second there. Ok, so maybe we just played a Hip venue. Is the Sando still hip? You Betcha!
King St in Newtown has been a Hip place for, well, for a while, but over the course of the years, like so many bohemian inner city (ish) enclaves, it has been gentrified, the rents gone up and the Bohemians moved on. Fortunately, it looks like they just moved a little further down King St.
It's still vibrantly artful and colourful. The people still dress in a manner sure to displease parents everywhere (Rebel with your hair!!) and the Sando, a long standing Bastion of the music scene is still kicking it.
As the 'Dude Who Does The Artwork' for the band, I am an avid fan of good posters and OMG, there's been a renaissance of Cool Band Art.
I had a chance to drop by the Jams this week and see some action. We're all sending out Healing Thoughts to AB (Get Well Soon) and we played a bit of Bondi Cigars stuff in his honour.
Ah, but the point of the post is to play some stuff by the House Band at the Jam, as Jim Finn, Jill Louise Hardy, Harry Brus, Adam Pringle and Brian 'indiana phoneix' Cain, along with our very own Mr Wizard, rocked out the late set.
Like all Jams each night can be its own mix of the shambling, rambling and fantastic, but when you have class musicians, you can get some spectacular moments.
Here's Harry doing Walking The Dog
Jill doing Angel from montgomery. Brian is getting a mean tone from his custom Mike/Amp setup and even Mr Wizard gets a run!
