Our sympathies also extend to the Tornado affected folks in the South

Details
Created: 29 April 2011
Natural disasters abound in 2011 - New Zealand got hit by a quake, Japan got a Quake and a Tsunami (plus the Nuclear Drama) and closer to home, Queensland got rain and floods, now Tornado season is wreaking havoc in the US.

We have a special place in our hearts for the power of the Tornado (the band name is a giveaway I guess) but our appreciation of them has gone from the Beauteous to the Monstrous as they scour away parts of the United States. Tornadoes and Thunderstorms apparently shut off the power at a Nuke facility in Alabama yesterday, luckily it looks like it all shut down ok.

We send our regards out to all the folks getting pummeled by the extreme weather and our heartfelt sympthies for those who have lost loved ones.

Australia mourns the loss of Dutch Tilders, fine Bluesman

Stormcellar would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Dutch Tilder's family and friends. Dutch passed away on Saturday after a long fight with cancer. He was the Godfather of Oz blues.

I have fond memories of his performance on GTK which impressed me so much when I was just learning about the blues. He seemed to me to be as close to the real deal as I have seen in this country.

Travel well Dutch.

 Paul

Andy Wins a Bunny -Stockton Gig Report

Howdy Folks and Happy Easter. I hope everyone who's been doing the long distance driving this long easter weekend has been doing it safely. A big shout out to the boys in blue who were everywhere this weekend. Given the whole Double Demerit things, its a wonder anyone was speeding, so an extra big shout out to the Twit driving the SUV towing a Boat and thinking he could take fast corners on the Sydney/Newcastle link road, in fog, with rain, at night. Ye Gods.

We played Stockton on Sunday afternoon and as it was an early start, we had a chance to actually see what we were driving past.

Despite three sets and the offical Stockton Dancing squad, the highlight by far, was when our mate Andy won the Easter Bunny raffle.

thus leaving us witha happy crowd, a happy band, a happy Andy and a Happy Easter!

We've got next weekend off and then we're back at the Pendle Inn for a late show on the 7th

The Late Late Late show Gig Report

Details

Its official. 11pm might be Rock Star hours but omg its late. Its a tribute to the constitution and committment of the folks last night at the Pendle Inn that at 1am, Set 3, they started dancing. Hmm...that also happened athte Boatshed...is there some sort of connection between 1am and Australian Dancing? Is it the magical Boogie Hour? Do I need some more coffee?

Good work from the lads last night. Theo has been rechristened 'the Machine' and Rosie was laserlike with the guitar stuff. I stopped playing harp so I could listen :-) Well worth it (the boys may suggest I follow this procedure more regularly).

Cheers to Prune, Matt, Lee and family and our entire Tamworth Audience :-) We're back at the PI in May for yet more Late Late Late shows.
