More work on drums and arrangements, guitars. Some of these vocals are not up to scratch.

Setting a time limit is a good idea, there's much to attend to. Mr Wizard wants to finish up, burn the greenhouse down and start again. I pointed out that the greenhouse project has also seen brand new stuff arise regularly, in addition to the good stewardship of ideas we have collected over the years.

All things considered it's moving as well as you can ask for this sort of thing. I think we might be really reaching the New - how often in the past have bands been able to do this? To do this much?

In some ways we're pioneers, in other ways, neophytes and wanderers, mendicants, scallywags, hedgerow pirates.

Moving off the philosophical - we reviewed Big time in newtown (no action taken other than discussion), ditto Sad Thing (will get a new name).

The rest of the day was spent tweaking Yearning, Where am i, Don't lie to me, Solace and Heavens on my shoulders. I had to stop when my ears turned to oatmeal.

It's hard to remember now what mixing was like when other people did it. Zero complaints - we're doing different things as a result of this current time/place in music creation. You get the freedom by being free.

Also a shout out to our mates T and M in Space Engineer, Terry may be even more prolific than we are and he and Mike are producing some of their best work. He sends it to me and I like to take a break from what we're working on to listen to it. Terry has a remarkable turn of phrase and melodic ability. He and Mike have developed a powerhouse original sound.

Good times.

Done and released as singles:

1. waiting on a message from bob
2. liquidator
3. morning flame
4. 2 week millionaire
5. the fix is in
6. psychedelic surfer
7. by myself without you
8. The Duke (only released as a video, not out officially)

Previously released as singles, not on an album and ready to go

9. Crossfire
10. the King is back

Sooo.....I mean....

Our target has generally been 13 tracks but that's a target. Basilisk was shorter, so was signposts (i think?)

Looking at the release candidates I reckon

- the yearning
- solace
- heavens on my shoulder

are all pretty much in contention for a slot.

Thing is, a few of the others are almost read as well. Long album? (theo says yes)
2 albums? (maybe?)
Time constraints? Radio interview for launch, 11 Feb.

What we can get done between now and then. Simple yeah?

I am putting the robot image generators through their paces and having a blast.

Turn around on this was a few weeks elapsed pre-production and about 12 hours of editing.

Relative to $ per second, this is nuts.

This was NOT the video I was planning on making, having used Dall-E and Runway (the online robots) to great effect on Liquidator, where it really turned out similarly to my shotlist/storyboard/mental picture, this video was made using left over 'credits' on the robot generator.

I wound up have to buy extra cos I got to 95% and went screw it, i wanna do it, so I did.

These things still suck at Narrative cos they can't maintain a consistent model at present, or at least that's not available to the public. Everytime a scene/image is generated, it starts from scratch. It doesn't 'know', it's still clockwork. Fancy clockwork and eventually maybe even so advanced we can't tell, and passes the Turing test/Voight Kampf test, but meanwhile it still needs the squishy meat parts to make it all work.

Liquidator worked well cos a gasmask is an easy trompe de l'oeil. This clip well...not so much.

Following the wise saying 'let thy limitations be thine art', and our more general interpretation of 'do what you can with what you got, while you can' and add to it 'as often as possible' and well, here we are.

Since we started I have done live action, animation, CGI, LLM generation and now Robot Animation. If there's one consistent thing? BUTTONS!!! Yay! Newwww butttons! What does this do??

Hmm...anyway Imma do Juggernaut as a video project. Yeah thought I'd mention that. Also? I got an album to finish, we are on ross fears show in early feb so we have a deadline.

Welcome to 2025, batten down the hatches kids it's gonna be a dooozey.
