Video retrospective - #27 Onward Traveler. Today, this is for C in memory of R & for TL, in memory of a good man.

Ever forward
Onward traveler
Fortunes favour
Hold you to her breast
still will you venture
Never ending
Past the circle
As the East into
the west
ancient doorways
star lit causeways
arch the vault
above your head
where you’ll find me
Ever after
Waiting in the hope to hear once more
the sound of your footsteps
on the path
that leads you to my door
Go on seeking
Onward traveler
grace of morning
Bright shall be your guide
Breadth of heavens
Lay before you
Stake your claim
To the purpose you must find
Windlashed shores
and mountains ranging
great deeps
Resound beneath your feet
worlds await you
teemed with wonders
of all the joys and perils you will know
love that I bear for you
will follow you wherever
you may go
Godspeed weary
Onward traveler
May the angels
sing you to your rest
Walked with bravery
Held determined
yet surrendered
to that greater gentleness

Halls of heroes
of myth and legend
Welcome you to
their shining fields

Arms of friends long
Un-remembered
Shall take you to a place
upon your throne
and all’s the stuff of stardust
But the knowing
That you’re coming home

You’re coming home

3am and I am uploading a single. Thanks to Mr Lynch, fresh out of mastering this evening.
Quick image, some uploading. Away we go.
Business as usual at 3am.

There's a joke going around that 2020 is a 'heck of a decade' and I'd agree.

In Jan we were on fire.

In Feb we were in Memphis.

By March the world had shut down.

I've lost a few good friends this year. Still thinking on the recent loss of our mate TL.

It's 3am and I am uploading a new finished song.

It's 3am and the show goes on.

Marking the passing of friend of the band, Tommy Lee

Damn.
I am staggered to learn our great mate Tommy Lee has passed away. I'm kind of shattered.

For those who think we're famous enough to know 'big name band' Tommy Lee, no he's fine (i hope).

Our Tommy Lee was a musician and sound engineer who once drove 13 hours just to come and do sound for us at a low rent bar cos he loved us. These things are precious.

Vale Tommy Lee, gone to the great gig in the sky.

"Friend of the band' is a term we use for those who have gone above and beyond the love of a musical act. It has been reserved for those who have 'been there' for us.

It's as high a commendation as we can fashion from our respect and love in return.

Tommy Lee, where-ever you are, we were made the richer for your presence, we are diminished in your loss and sustained by your memory. Thank you and godspeed.

Planes reappear in the skies, traffic returns but COVID lurks

On the days where the flight path directs traffic overhead, you feel part of the machine.

Thunder in clear air skies, in cab-ranks of planes snaking in and out of Sydney in long lines of commerce, travel and excitement.

Their absence has brought other birds to my skies, Rosella's to the birdbath outside my window.

The Blue around the distance buildings that little brighter, as if a painting of the world had been cleaned. I'll miss the non-deadly changes this thing has wrought. the slow down.

The month of days at the speed of a sunday christmas morning.

And as New South Wales goes back to work, back to jostling for a car park, back to tailgating in traffic and parking and walking with the diffident air of those who are entitled to their space and yours, I'll miss the civillity of solitude.

---

After the poetic bit, a few more gigs on the books are gonna be canned as COVID is still a factor. Yargh.

Also, separately, sending Big Healing vibes to Page.

Also Also: Videoclip thing.
