The planes are overhead again. 86 New Zealanders arrived. What in one plane each?

Haven't missed that...oh well. Welcome back...the new normal?

Well something's happening.

Video Pre Production

I remembered why I have made so many 'found footage' clips. Doing pre production on Live Action has reminded me. We've been doing the script development for weeks now.

We're sort of at the shot list stage now. FINALLY...ish. And once that's done, then I can do the actual pre-production. Can't manage logistics until we know what we're doing.

This week we had a look at some of our old videos and some possible thematic concept examples, including some ooooold faves. OMG. Had to share this one. Laura Branigan was a total fox. The video is some high art stuff, perfect for inspiration!

No rushing this. Scripting, then location scouting, then some planning, setting a date, then doing it, then editing it.

This is why I tried animation for clips. That took aaaaages. It basically turns out that doing a good job just takes time no matter which format I use :)

Although to be fair I knocked that last clip out in 36 hours using found footage...hmm....maybe it's horses for courses.

Live Real World Shows

Looks like Stormcellar Collective is on the move for some less-socially-isolated shows. It's good to be active on that.

Downtime Season 2

In development :P

Downtime Recordings

The multitrack stuff went well. Not sure if any of the performances were release worthy. All the technical elements are working fine. Bodes well. We'll see.

Streaming the CRAB

Yeah we're doing that. The mind boggles. The technical complexity is...WONDERFUL I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!
MUAHAHAHAHA

Good times folks.

Oh yeah also new songs.

Wanna support all this and more: www.paypal.me/stormcellarband and sned us some $ and we'll spend it on this sort of thing. Go on, you know you want to.

Smoke on Horizon
darkness over me

memory's no virtue
tired of living dread
po' boys and churches
floor laid for a bed
sparks within my ashes
cage my thoughts
in raging red

Some blessed downtime before the Great Restart

We're doing a debrief, this week, on Season 1 of Downtime. Gotta pick a new name for Season 2...

if there is one.

Heh.

The Great Restarts

New Zealand is COVID clear and this bodes well for the direction we can expect here in Oz.

Already the traffic is back, the planes are returning to the skies.

Yet it's a bubble of safety in a turbulent time. Much like a stormcellar. Hmm.. who knew how dang appropriate this band name would turn out to be.

The Great Reboot, the Uber Restart, I can feel it in me bones...arrr....it be comin'

Soon the muso's will escape from dormancy and seek once more, in safe, socially distant ways, to gain the energy response from Humans.

Meanwhile it's that time of year for forward planning and as the Absolute End Times have not materialised (dang it) I guess working out what comes next is a thing.

There is a plan. It might not be the right plan, it may in fact only be a series of bullet points and 2/3 of those are 'Screw Flanders' (10 points if you get the reference). But A Plan it is. Now we work it! Or more specifically we work. That'll do.

Expect some more changes. Pre and Post COVID music worlds are gonna be different, why would we stay the same? Everything changes, nothing stays the same :)

Imma go silent for a few days of chill time and then we'll see what we see eh? Silence betokens assent, right :)

That was so good even with tech problems cos this is awesome and even doing it is awesome. We just did the equivalent of the tonight show from a backyard with a laptop. Gotta enjoy that. Massive thanks all season to Bec, Fox & Coggers, Theo, our awesome sponsors TDJ, Cash Money Sue, The Steves, and today JT.
We couldnt do this without help. Thank you Simple. Thank you Ron, thank you Hawkie and to Elsa, our producer!
The whole idea of this was to provide a regular, chill moment, live. to keep a few friends and fam in a safe mind spot for a little bit. It has done its job wonderfully and given great joy, especially to me.
Thank you all.
