OH&S says Rain + equipment = Bad, Mmk?
Theo doesnt mind getting wet in the garden...but....no. Wett Butt no.
Downtime pushed to next week! Only 3 eps to go for season 2.
'Sanctuary' Project now moving to final mixing, ahead of mastering? Really?
Cool. Cos Space Engineer is dropping an album out and yeah I feel the need to keep up!
Go Terry! :)
The studio album is sitll gona be a ways off. Final vocals on a few songs now underway. Also be good ot have a few lyrics.
And after trying every piano player I can meet in Sydney, I may wind up with a crack at White Fire shortly.
Aaaaand we booked some gigs aaaaand COVID lockdowns kicked back in.
Will we? Won't we? Who knows! (like the actual WHO?) Chaos! YAY!
Yo. We went dark cos it's easier on the eyes for a bit.
More fuzting to come. If I break it...yeah that'll be me 'fixing' things again.
Only 3 more eps of this season of Downtime.
Things look like they're picking up. I expect we'll be out in the real world again soon :)
Yay! Two main vocals, some harmony vocals.
Adjusted arrangements, gathered next batch of stuff together.
It's still going to take some time...and the more I look at the list of steps involved the more I realise it's more 'months' than weeks....
More main vocals, instrumentation, harmonies and guests and then to mixing.
The live Downtime album is racing towards completion. Theo is making progress. Downtime S2/e10 tomorrow. Ahhh
After feeling like we were moving pretty slowly there for a while I stopped to do a....spreadsheet. Ah yes, they are still a joy.
Turns out we are further along than I realised. There are 11 tracks in post production or active production/tracking. We're ditching the studio version of 'Smoke on horizon' in favour of the live version, so that will be on the Downtime recordings.
As Theo pointed out, we are on schedule for our usual production rate, as we are looking at two releases this year.
Before we get to the next Tracking session I need to finish 3 more songs. Fortunately there is no shortage of music, with Coggers, Fox and Mr Wizard all pumping out guide tracks.
If I get cracking i can keep up with Space Engineer!
For batch 1, it's time for Main Vocals. There is more writing to do and I finally have found someone to help me with White Fire, which has been stuck in limbo for the last three months as I sort the chorus out.
Still not a fast process.
Ok - next item - Youtube's bot decided one of our live songs was someone else's and I am a little GRRR about that.
I get that the technology is not perfect, and I have a feeling I might be writing some emails about this. Welcome to 2021!
Todays's ep of Downtime

I can't make this thing go any faster, so it's time to sit back and enjoy the ride. Between COVID and the rest of the unfolding 21st Century, it's time to chill.
Status remains steady-as-she-goes - Downtime S2 is on, Stormcellar album 13 pending Le Revenue, Stormcellar Collective 'Live Downtime' recordings are in post. Theo is swapping out better recordings as they arise.
Stormcellar Collective's first studio album is still moving forward...slowly...Sadly we missed the boat for the Neon Nights who have a show on now so it's back to the drawing board for some backing stuff and I am still wrangling White Fire. I think I have spoken with 10% of the keyboard players in Sydney in an effort to find the right combo.
There's a backlog of songwriting, so no shortage on that front (in 13 years there hasnt been), I would kind of like to finish a few of these existing tracks so I can get them out of my head.
Meanwhile, Space Engineer is putting out 1 new track a week! Dang it! MUSH DOGGIES! MUSH!!!
Videoclip still is pre production (OMG) and oh yeah it looks like we have more shows in the wild coming up. Great, we could do with the cash!
Things are going at their own rate. Big Ups to Coggers for ongoing outstanding technical stuff.
Also a shout out to Friend Of The Band Ms Rebecca for showing me around the streaming setup she has going on at the Powerhouse.
I get the feeling that there will be a cascade of completion at some point. Like waiting for the kettle to boil. There's no shortage of good stuff going on, it's just taking the time it takes...:)
