Sc2 Session #32 - Iphonics

Does it say Due Oct? ARGH!!!

Hey Folks.

We're 5 songs mixed, 7 to go, + a couple of fixes and oddments to sort out. For anyone curious as to the speed of progress, we're working 1 day a week at the moment (that's life folks).

Yesterday saw us mix High Cost of Lovin and That Smiles Not For Me. TSNFM isn't in the Live set yet and I'm having trouble with the bridge, so it might be time for a key shift  (sigh)... Now a quick note for the iPhone peoples. Paul has gone iPhone bonkers to the point of playing various iPhone effects at the end of the track yesterday, which were spookily in tune with the melody. I have a feeling some of those effects (where copyright permits) will probably turn up on some recording...

Happy Halloween

Happy pumpkin day to you and yours! Our thoughts are with those folks who are far from home.

Yes I know its not a trad Aussie festival, but the halloween shop was packed and face it, we like the idea of dressing up as a Zombie, or vampire, and who can resist the idea of free chocolate? The local press made some mention of it as one of those imported hallmark holidays. Fair comment.

So we're suckers for paper witches and glow in the dark skeletons, I admit it.

From our man of Lists, Mrose,  here's a top 10 spooky songs:

Great acts last weekend at the Sydney Blues Fest

Hey Sliders.

Saw great set by Gayle Paige, very tight hot players, a classy set, her voice is huge and world class.

Swamp House , were great , slide player John ex Cyril B Bunter Band pulled some classic tones and they did a great Hound Dog Taylor  cover.

Tice and Evans pulled an immaculate full sound for a dul and went down  a storm, with Dave pulling a few originals out.

Dutch band  John The Releavator, played some great prog-rock and early UK type blues including a Peter Green song. A real crowd pleaser and they did 2 shows on the big stage. Simon Cox from WA was sitting in on Hammond and piano , as well as adding some fine vocals. I am sure they would have been happy with his contributions. He is a great talent, would be great to hook up with sometime.

Keep on slidin'

Paul.
