Here's Cesar trying to figure out what the heck all that artwork in the middle of Nuevo Retro means (told ya, fun for hours). After listening to some demo stuff from our next project (Carls Chair, now in post production) and having a look at Carls Chair (the actual chair, see the blog here) Cesar has suggested an official Kitsch Couch Contest. I think we'll let Cesar judge it.
To enter, simply send us a picture of yourself in your favourite awful armchair and we'll post it on the web. Winner gets a free copy of our next CD release, Carls Chair (due Sept 10...we hope). Yikes! Theo is still in Holland, assisting the nation in recovering from the World Cup...and we have a gig! Yikes!
Fortunately for us, our illustrious Producer, Godfather of Blues and Drummer on 2 of our Albums, Mr Jim Finn will be our special guest replacement on Sunday! Hooray! (applause)
Luke Anthony saved 3 of my guitars on a sunday morning, when no one else was open, just so we could play our gig. He gave up his spot in the church choir that morning to do it for me so I owe him! He's also the one who modified two of my gain pedals. Good on ya Ant, you saved my bacon.
So I had fun today on a percussive mission that left me feeling like an extra in a Cheech and Chong film ... Theo had damaged a piece of his gear and I'd volunteered to track down a replacement. Many phone calls involved, still hunting, but I am now loving that each phone call went something like this ...
Shop assistant: Hello, Anonymous Music, can I help?
Rosie (in best hoarse voice): Hey man, do you have a bongo head?
Shop assistant: (insert silence)
Rosie: (insert grin)
... you get the idea.
