The Favicon is the teeny weeny little piccy that your browser displays when it comes to our site.

It's up there, somewhere at the top of the screen.

This is it in Bigness.

ok, so it's geek thing :-) but it makes me happy.

The blogging never stops - Newcastle gig report! (also more stuff about car packing)

It's my blog and if I want to write about packing, I can darn well do it.

So here's this weeks packing comment.

I wish I'd had that little flippin carnival again. Wouldja believe when I finally got the car I originally wanted to rent and it didn't fit half as much .

D'OH

Moving on:

Newcastle on a Sunday night at the Kent!

Calm on the outside?

On the boogie on the inside :-)

Shout outs to Bob and Mick.

We opted to start with the acoustic type stuff again at the start of the show, the crowd generally rolls in a little later in the evening as the afternoon venues close and by midway through the second set, things were so swinging that we just ploughed ahead into set three, then kept going.

That meant a 45 minute + a 120 minute show, and that's after Theo had done a 3 set afternoon show with the Jungle Kings, plus a 10 minute boogie at the end of the set. The man is a machine.

I saw many forms of kung fu last night, notably Rosies mid-solo-string-snap-recover-finish-solo-swap-guitars-plug-back-in-reset-everything-do-next-solo moment.

if that sounds like a lot of stuff you should have seen it live. I heard the string go pzzarng and thought 'uh oh, what's gonna happen now' and was readying a harp for an unexpected role in Feel So Blue (BAIL OUT! BAIL OUT! BANDIT"S ON YOUR SIX!) but Rosie ejected from his doomed craft and swiftly repositioned a replacement vehicle, riding back into his solo spot, triumphant. Bravo.

Yep, them boys wuz on fire last night.

Also had a chance to listen to The Blues Taste Good by Dicky James & The Blue Flames, so far, Sound Mind s my fave track.

Early morning trips home, back down the freeway, blue toothing tunes into the rental car and talking about song arrangements and music trivia. These are the things of which life is made.

Guess what came in the mail today!

One of the most awesome things about doing band stuff is getting to swap your cd's for other bands cd's!

That's how I got turned on to Den Hanrahan (alt country) and Catherine Traicos (just plain Alt) and now some Blues straight out of the Mid West.

Thank you Mr Cox, Mr Wizard has already grabbed one to listen to and we'll swap in a few days. Hope you enjoy Hired Guns & Nuevo Retro

The OCD Department Presents - Bow down before Zod, MJEB is a packing Demi-God...also, Kia Carnival turns out to have an additional space/time dimension.

I may have mentioned my beloved Gig Station wagon sadly went to the wreckers some time back and I have been hard pressed to find a replacement. This has necessitated hiring some vehicles, as, for some reason (PETE D.!!!!) we are now carrying more production gear.

(PETE!!!)

Ahem. Anyway, when I went to collect our vehicle the other day, it wasn't there. Instead, I was obliged to accept a Kia Carnival.

OH @%&# I hear you say.

Ah no, wait a minute, my bad, that was me swearing. !@&^*@. How am I gonna fit our gig gear into THIS

Well, using remarkable uncanny mental processing system of algebra and Tetris, I can say

Where Zod = Me and Kneel = I pack LIKE A BOSS

other bands will talk about their awesome hair, airplanes, grammys, guitar skills and music.

Me? I have already bragged that I make a good sandwich. This is true. Give me a deli and a stick of bread and ask me to make you one, you will be happy.

However, I am starting to  realize the Force can be expressed in Packing. I shall now apply to the College of Roadies for Admission, or perhaps get a job packing clowns into cars. I am awesome.

Oh yeah we did a gig last night, yadda yadda, Rosie played well, good vibes, good times...But The PACK!!

BTW Props to Kia, this is a nippy, sporty little car with Tardis Capacity. Bravo.

oh yeah some pics from the gig:

And you could win a kyak.

(sigh)
