That was a fun evening :-)
Proof of concept? Check!
Song Arrangements? Needs some tweaking. Light in the distance worked as an acoustic only version, Same Old Blues needs a tweak. What we expected really.
Sound Production? Close but no cigar - we still need some directed fold back. When I made a face about that, Theo reminded me that 'you know all that unplugged stuff a few years back? Well, there were still plugs'

New Songs? Yep we even tried some unfinished stuff that will be coming into the set soon.
Tapas? Did someone say Tapas?

Cheers to Pete. Claudette, Suzanne, Rose and Michael for being test subjects and to Raquel and Maria for looking after us down there.
Ok, so what's the upshot?
That was frickin awesome and we're doing it again next Thursday.
It's ON. Very nearly wasn't. Big Ups to to Theo for making some time and a bit of effort from Mr Wizard and myself, the Cellar is ready.
Tomorrow night, Thursday 8pm-10pm (or until we get sleepy), the first 'cellar session will be happening in the basement of Raquel's on Oxford St

We have our very own basement bar and we'll be playing whatever we feel like. If there's no one there, we'll even start working on new songs.

There's Tapas and drinks upstairs(and we'll work out how to do it downstairs soon).

We've even got a VIP area!

ooh lounges!
This will be acoustic (ish), intimate (it's a small bar) and could become quite a vibey little deal. Downstairs at Raquels Spanish Kitchen, 98 Oxford St, Darlinghurst, just up from corner of Crown and Oxford!
What can all this stuff I got from Reverse Garbage be for?
I'm making a prop for a videoclip idea.
if you guess what prop I'll make out of this stuff, I'll send you something (who knows what but we'll make it worth your while)

Ze Mind, She Boggles!
Oh I should add I also got some silver foil, black plastic, binoculars, gold lame material and an X-box electric guitar.
That last item is a Red Herrring, it's a prop for the prop to use.
Oh I also got a pianola roll.
That's also a red herring but an interesting purchase.
Howdy folks.
This week's gig report will be a pictorial affair. Make what you can of this :-)

Shout outs to James, Rani, Pete, Suzanne, Claudette and everyone who spent some time with us at our gigs this week. What a pair of gigs they were and I wish I could add more. Just look at that final picture ;-) what happens at shows, stays at shows...
Howdy Folks, I've been out prop shopping for the next video. Had one of those might-be-a-great-idea-might-be-disaster-idea moments and off we go.
Mr Wizard and I spent the afternoon sorting through the trash and treasure of the endless assortment of bottlecaps, plastic lids, industrial refuse and other weird and wonderful object at Reverse Garbage.
I have been visiting thse guys since i was a nipper and they rock. RAWK!

Do you need half a mannequin, an assortment of glitter based bottle brushes or, in our case, some oddments with which to build a (REDACTED FOR NON SPOILER REASONS)
With imagination all things are possible.
Support these guys, go there and buy weird stuff, become a friend (10% off, 12 months, $10, mad not to) or donate stuff to'em. What a resource.
