Howdy Folks.

Once again we're in progress of sorting our US tour and as per usual, I don't say too much about it because we live in a fluid and dynamic environment. Whatever that means.

But dear Reader, over the years of reading this blog, you may remember our propensity for Random stuff.

We have a few 'downtime' nights on our tour and we decided to try a random We'll Play Anywhere add in Craigslist, a site renowned for Garage Sales and Saucy Hookups.

Rosie thought the ad was legendary and asked me to post it.

(BTW if you're a Craigslister responding to the ad, welcome! Yes, we're for real. Look around, don't be scared, play a few vids, read some random blogs)

 Random Australian Band will play for you and your mates in St Louis. Or nearby.

Ever wanted a band to turn up from the other side of the planet and rock your house/garage/living room/seminary/secret lair? Want to appear on their Tour T Shirt? Maybe a Selfie?

Roots/Blues/ Boogie band Stormcellar from Sydney (Australia) are on tour through the Midwest and we have some free nights that we want to fill.
No strings, no catches, no weird stuff (unless you're into that sort of thing, in which case please see our ad in the personals. You cheeky thing). You provide the space and preferably a few mates and we'll make the noise.
Yep, have a modern Canned Heat style band make a racket in your pad/club/pub.
Got a PA? Even better! Got space for a 6 piece band? You beauty!

We're looking for something in the St Louis MO area on Thursday 4th or Saturday 6th September.
And remember, strangers are just friends you haven't loaned money to yet!
Prospective responders should be aware band is fully house trained, but not yet neutered or spayed. Low allergenic. High fructose. Baa!     

I'll try this ad in a couple of locations and see how we go. Should make for some interesting times.

Starting off with the next vid. This from the fundraiser.

I have a synch prob (my bad) between my static and mobile cam so I have to reconcile 23.92 vs 29.97 (woe unto me) which will take some editing freakery or I can just run the single cam takes for the next vids.

Rookie mistake. Sad face.

Anyway. Here's the boys testing out the sound.

Well we all got a cold. More or less the whole dang band.

That's kind of slowed me down this week, but we'd rather be sick now than whilst on tour. Achoo.

Anyway, I have a whole bunch of video from last weekends' shows, which will be the last shows in Aus until we get back.

In this particular clip, Rosie got some Stage Invasion from some dancing girls, which did not improve his mood all that much. His amp blew up in set 1 and he had to make flash repairs and keep going. the last thing he wanted was scantily clad females getting in his space. I mean really what are we, in a band or something?

I'll cut some more clips over the next few (ACHOO...sniff) days.

Rosie’s take on the weekend’s gigs aka Stairs and Stars

As Mjeb mentioned: Friday night at Lazybones (such a great venue; so many stairs!) was a challenge indeed with my amp blowing up in the first song of the first set. Here’s a picture of the problem:

The gig on Sunday at the Bald Faced Stag was a blast. Here are a couple of photos – some from the allstar jam …

The 'drum-off' was fantastic with Theo and T-Boyd going full-throttle; there were more musicians on stage than I could fit in a photo but in the background you can also see one Mal Eastick:

What a grand day, made possible by the selflessness of many people.

Nelly, Nancy, Clayton, Gary, Bodhi, Kylie, Brett, Steve, Bernie, Sharron, amongst others.

To have the willing involvement of so many bands, wishing us success in pursuit of the random is a remarkable thing, and we're fortunate to be aware of quite how remarkable it is.

The all star jam was, unsurprisingly, amazing. Shame I didn't take footage of it, I was too busy having fun, but i made a point getting some footage of each act on the bill.

It will take me a few days to clean and edit, and i'll post it a bit at a time.

You ought to have seen them. They were glorious.

We have only thanks to offer.

It seems so small a thing.
