Two shows this week, and in quite remarkable way proving how Transgenre we are. Yep thats it, you heard it here first.

How can one band play a Blues Show and a 'Country' ish show?

Because we bloody well can.

Got a problem with that mate? Take it up with Roger the Transgenre Kangaroo.

Sometimes he's a marsupial, sometimes he's a Trucker from Dubbo named Phil.

I'm glad we had this talk.

We're playing a set with our old mates from Los Skeletone and our new mates from The Hollerin Sluggers on Friday, at The Record Crate in Glebe. Yeah a gig in a record store with three bands.

And...MISS JO's driving up/in/from Cumnock to come sing with us on Saturday night! Yay!! That means we'll get to do that Duet from CSN and she can sing her bloody song because the boys have been making me sing 'Push Me Away' in her Key.

Wow I'm feisty today eh? :-)

We've missed her so much and we're glad to have her join us for the night.

Mr Wizard said it yesterday. The stormcellar is a refuge for all. When your spirits are in need of a lift, come out with your friends in the stormcellar. It's weird in here, but it's friendly.

A reminder of the songs of Sydney. Folks songs tell us about us

Back in the day, back at a time, this was a song taught to me by the older boys at school.

We sang it when we rocked the bus back and forth on school trips, scaring the driver into pulling over.

We sang it when we snatched items from the newsagent at the bottom of the hill and got banned from the milk bar for rapscallion behaviour.

We sang it when we dodged pursuit in the back alleys of The Rocks for throwing bungers at the horse police.

We sang it and we meant it when we formed an almost perfect unique solidarity against authorities. Oh how naughty.

We were us, they were them.

Somehow, the edge of an ancient razor gang, the wharf kids and dockies, dickensian thieves and labour factionalists still existed and I spent a few fortunate years in that strange twilight bubble.

Folk songs are an insight into our nature. There's a quintessential attitude in my beloved city that makes us highly irritating to other Australians. A sense of entitlement. New South Wales. The Premier State. That great wheezing corrupt old bawd of a city. Gosh we we luvs ya.

I shared this back in the day. Pete's been a 'cellar dweller for a long while and i freaking love this clip.

EXSQUEEZAT!!

I've always wanted one of our clips to go viral but this one of Petes is way more deserving on a level I can only aspire to. Bravo gentlemen.

Final mix for Better Off Without You back from Indy

Howdy Folks. Once again I'm listening to unreleased stuff. Better Off Without You (or, fittingly in memoriam, BOWY for short) was recorded in Indiana last year on tour. We added some vocals to the middle 8 courtesy of Jo and Ben here at Everland and sent them back for integration.

It's taken a few months for the song to come back to me, courtesy of a most excellent mix by AJ at SS in IN :-)

So far it's passed muster and it joins Return Of The King in awaiting the mastering and release.

But when?

But why?

Why are we here at all for that matter?

I truly must stop watching these BBC physics shows after gigs.

The Universe is made up of Matter, Antimatter, Dark Matter, No Matter and Unreleased Stormcellar Material.

Everywhere Feels Like Home is only a few months out of the stable and I'm pushing to get completion on our KC sessions.

Meanwhile, ROTK and BOWY are awaiting release and we're confirming recording dates for our next 'studio work'.

Ah yes. Plus the other singles we'd like to record here before we go on tour again.

There's been quite some internal discussion about when to release things. One side of the argument says 'don't crowd your product, give it time to breathe'. Another argument is 'they're coming to take me away! Ha ha! Hee Hee!' and release whatever you feel like, whenever you feel like it.

Mr Wizard follows Scandal, the J-pop band and says they release stuff all the time so why shouldnt we.

What are the rules these days, anyway?

So. Once again, Dear Reader, i'll be listening to work I cannot share until we work out what to do with it. Most peculiar.

Howdy folks, we just got back from a 4 day run up and down the coast and it was awesome.

This is just a moment of what we experienced.

We are truly lucky to be able to do what we do, and do it in this place. We're grateful.

As I stopped at the Truck Stop on the way back down the coast I saw this sign.

Freedom is a state of mind, but that state may be subject to monitoring.

I got shots and vids. Stay tuned I'll post.

Many many thanks to Nat C, Chontelle, Garry, Matt and Lindsay, Toni, Melanie, Matt, Tim and all the folks who joined us on our two syllable tour.

Meanwhile I got so much stuff to sort that I dont have enough time to blog.

More soon.
