DJ JK SC Remix OK?

I've been bugging Jerry to do a Aussie DJ Remix of some of our stuff for umm....3 years?

It was a 'let's do lunch' thing and we never got around to it, but this is 10th anniversary year madness!

As I was dropping the car off for repairs, I chanced to bump into Jerry and

Jerry has 9 albums (yes I am letting him hear the developing mixes on SC9) to choose a track from.

Due to Time/Change/Hard Drive crash, I don't have 'component' parts for all of these albums, but for some, I do. Esp the new stuff.

That gives DJ JK a few options:

- Sampling a song

- Remixing a song ('stems' permitting, meaning we'd have to have the individual component track data)

- Covering it (rebuilding the song with new instrumentation)

Dubcellar? Technocellar? Stormtrance? Housecellar?

Today is tomorrow's yesterday. Just ask Shelley

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Whilst the world holds its collective breath as the Great and Powerful Oz ascends the throne, we whistle past the graveyard, knowing that this too shall pass.

Mix 8/13 came in. Coming on strong this one.

Cellar Dweller Monte ganked a copy of Heavy Weather cos he didn't want to wait. My persuasive arguments about waiting availed me nought. Mind you, he bribed me with a shiny flashing LED. I'm a sucker for that stuff.

Record it, mix it, finish it, release it, what are you waiting for.

We may not even have time to release this stuff as singles before the whole thing is done.

Of course, it's entirely up to us. Hmm...

For the first time in a while I miss Roger, our erstwhile Virtual Manager. He'd know what to do.

He was last seen operating a Plastic Extrusion concern in Bù tài kěnéng chénggōng Economic Impoverishment Zone whilst awaiting arraignment on charges of substituting Shar Pei milk in baby formula.

Good times.

It's already January 20th here. The future is somewhat less apocalypsey than predicted, but news takes forever to get down here anyway, right?

Stand by for further transmissions!

SC9 mixing process moving rapidly.

Maybe a little too rapidly. Is there such a thing?

Oh. Apparently not.

On the one hand, YAY, on the other, um...the artwork is nowhere near finished.

I've already started messing about but I thought I had more time.

KC Gold took a loooong time to get sorted out.

Perhaps this is just the universes way of evening out the average production time.

Sydney Heat, 4am, Das Boot and remixes

Sydney got so hot we prayed for a storm, just to take the humidity away. It's the first cool night in days. I like the alliteration. Grammar could use a tweak.

4am was a good time to be awake in the stifling heat.

Watching re-runs of Das Boot.

I had forgotten how much I liked the soundtrack.

That prompted me to listen it to it via youtube, which prompted me to listen to some excellent remixes, which led to a remix of one of my fave movie soundtrack items by Tangerine Dream.

That's prompted me to reach out to someone to remix one of our tracks.

Yeah you heard me. I have previously mentioned Harmonica + Heavy Metal (still working on that) and now I've got a ping on for some EBM. I've asked some total random dudes to have a go. We'll see if anyone in Poland is up for some technocellar, dubstorm, housecellar or wtf. Yeah. Crazy.
