Long day rehearsing today. A good day. The lads are producing music faster than I can write words for it.

At one point, I resorted to singing 'eye of the tiger'.

I had melody, so that's a plus. I need a little more time with the words.

Mind you, the song in question will forever have eye of the tiger in there somewhere.

Here endeth our standard plans today. 

Tomorrow we're recording with Ben, close to home. That just seemed to be the way it worked out this time.

I'm going to try to embed the FB feed here, or go to the facebook. I am going to video and blog the stuff we're doing for purposes of relaxation and Non Politics Non Disaster time.

3 new songs in today. They may even make it to Saturday's show. 

Things are tough all over, but we all seem to be getting through.

Instead of being in the country, we're in a dining room.

Instead of recording with Lynchy we're at Ben's.

Instead of being in Chicago on Saturday, we're in Newtown.

This may be an alternate universe. I can't be sure which one, or what it is an alternative to.

We're in Newtown on Saturday night, late. Great. 

I can make this work.

Rehearsal tomorrow. Recording Thursday & Friday, gig Saturday.

Chaos hit again today.

Dr Rock warned me about Pluto being oppositional at the moment.

No not that Pluto.

Of course Gary at Skywatch Observatory points out Pluto wasn't discovered by humans until 1930.

I thought that organising this weeks recordings would be easy in comparison to the US tour logistics; I was wrong.

Chaos is a factor. Randomness is a factor. Might as well be bloody Pluto.

So here I am, feeling pretty chipper whilst Entropy interacts with my planning process in a significant way.

I've kept things pretty fluid and open since we had to De-Tour and my working proposal is 'yes' is proceed, 'no' is go another way.

Today, several of my 'Yes' states have moved to 'maybe' and I'm treating anything that's not a 'yes' as a 'no'. That's just where I am at right now.

I'm keeping it positive here, cos I am positive. I've moved from one Plan B to the next. In fact I am almost at the end of the standard alphabet. If I run out of letters, I am going to pick random object. Right now we're up to Plan Cheese Sandwich

Writing continues today, rehearsal tomorrow and then? We move to the next thing. Yep.

What is that next thing?

Dunno. That's our next thing to work out.

This week we're writing, rehearsing, travelling and recording.

This is Hidden Hand, a song Rosie & Bill wrote about a couple of hours before they recorded it, up at Skywatch Observatory in Coonabarrabran.

This is three takes, unmixed, with the background sounds of the bush, on a sunny afternoon.

Mr Wizard and I had an official working lunch yesterday, in the sunshine, with a block of copy paper and a few marker pens.

Getting a clear idea of what to do next requires spring rolls.

 Also Tea.

And thinking. Lots of thinking. And phone calls. And Emails.

We have 6 slots available in the recording session next week. 

To complete the initial 5D tracks, Mr Wizard wants to add Double Bass, drums & baritone guitar to Sail Away.

Bill wants to add Bowed Double Bass. to Pirouette.

Cool, that's 2/6 slots, give or take

Shoshona & Hidden Hand are pretty much done, as they were stereo mic live recordings. No worries, ignore that.

Everyone wants to have another crack at Brave With Your Heart, and maybe to even do an electric version. Hmmm...3/6. Maybe.

Pirouette came up as a very different song Electric so we want a version of that. 4/6

Plus 'Drums', one of the 'D's from the 5D project. 5/6

That leaves 1 slot open for New Song.

We have 5 days before we record, a proposed full electric rehearsal in 4 days, leaving us 3 days to write another song.

It's on. Oh yeah, you know it's on.

Mr Wizard and Bill are hard at it. Files are arriving. They are playing things to me. Yikes. They really do like to work huh?

Bodes well for the coming week. We'll see what turns up.
