Paul Read Slide Tunings & Tips #1

Hey there Sliders! Here's some slide tablature for ya!

Finding freebie info on Slide Tunings is hard, so here's my contribution to the argument.

These charts are a few chords that are playable with only 3 fingers, using the Fourth for the bottle-neck/Slide.

I used A5,D, E, A7, D7, A minor, D minor, E Minor, E sus4+7+9, D9 and A sus4 +7 +9 a lot.

Here's a close up kinda animated version MJEB did for me. (MJEB note: so if they're in the wrong order, blame me)

See if you can spot them in some of the songs on 'Whiskey Talkin'

Vale Leroc. Mal in San Francisco to pay his last respects

Mal flew to San Franciso on Monday afternoon in order to say goodbye to his good friend Leroy.

Christ, I hope I get that right. Mal talked about him often but he never spelled the name for me...

Mal was hoping to take the band over there to play with him some time in the future.

Lerock (as Mal called him) was battling cancer and unfortunately passed away before Mal even

got on the plane,

but I dont think the news reached Mal until he touched down in the USA, last night our time.

Leroc was a musician too, so I am sure he understood Mal wanted to get through the weekends gigs

before he flew over.

Our thoughts are with Leroc, his friends and family and Mal, in particular.

When I get some accurate details, I'll post them up here.

Stormcellar Website Hacked and Confused!

We got Pwned!! Our website was down for about 4 hours today after the audacious Turks tagged and baggeed us.

For all you non geeks, to get 'owned' means someone else hijacking your site/computer. Add a little Web Speak and it becomes 'Pwned'.

For the record, we are amongst a select group of website who have been hacked using a Joomla exploit. If you're a joomla 1.5 user, check this link and make sure you're patched:

Thanks to our awesome friends at Joomlabear, (www.joomlabear.com) we were up and running pretty quick (Thanks Lachlan, Happy Weddings!). Joomlabear did the template for this site. They're also good guys to call in a crisis.

Thank you for being kind - in all seriousness, you could have done lots of damage, but you generously chose to do some graffiti and run. Thats cheeky, but not utterly evil.

So to SL1pKnot and Audores, we acknowledge your 37337 Skilz, you are mad hax0rs and totally Pwned our box. We bow. BTW - the music clip you put up was pretty good.

To our mates at Joomlabear, thanks, you went beyond the call of duty for an unsupported open source template.
