Big night at the Bald Rock last night with a huge number of freinds and regulars coming in for the evening. Shout outs to CB, Pete, GC and Isabel, Josh, Stewie, Shane, 200% of our Tamworth Audience (you know who you are) and a packed house for the night.
Despite the cold winter weather outside, there was plenty of heat inside thanks to the Warm Bodies and Vigorous Dancing. In fact, there were even blokes dancing with blokes. The question in that case is, who leads?
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold conditions for the evening. We're back at the Bald Rock soon and look forward to another good night there.
Ok, the cat is out of the bag, we're doing a Big (ish) band show at the Peterhsam Bowling Club on the 7th. This is the first pass of an idea we've been kicking around for a while, and although there's more to come with this concept, we're starting with a test of the musical components, on the 7th of August at the Petersham Bowling Club.
For regular readers of this site, you may know we got into a little trouble over 'Carl's Chair', hot on the heels of Nuevo Retro, we received one or two 'WTF' responses from Blues Purists and a couple of 'we dont like your kind round here' from unnameable sources (well, I could name'em but I won't cos we are quite polite most of the time). Controversy? Great! Just ask Rupert, it sells papers!
Nonetheless, Carls' Chair is still on the Australian Blues/Roots charts. Thats gotta be nigh on 6 months now. It peaked at #7 (not bad) and is still on there at #14. Carl's Chair came into the charts when Nuevo Retro was still on the chart, and given that NR made it to #1 and stuck around for a year, we've been pretty well represented on the airwaves for a while.
What does it all mean? Who knows! We have managed to offend purist genre enthusiasts from at least three (or more) Musical Tribes and with luck, the next album will increase the number of people who can't pin us down!
