One way to know that we're really working on the album is to see a new menu section appear on the site, as we need a place for relevant articles to land, so if you peer to your right, you'll see the HG&BG Blog menu item.
I might as well start with some info on how its going!
As per usual, we're trying to get all of the schedules for the band, engineer, location etc to coincide. I had hoped to already be recording this one in November or October, without much luck.
Now, we've reset our target for a February recording, on location. There are a lot of variables still to work out and we have to graciously accept the results of randomness in our planning, which means we just keep trying and hope like crazy it all comes together.
As the Song Writing is still continuing, we gotta get this happening before we wind up with a double album (Yikes).
As we're officially now in the Pre Production phase, we're starting to look at Amps (what sound), which Guitars (do we need to borrow another acoustic guitar for one track? Borrow a better Mandolin?), Guest Musos, Backing Vocals...ah yes, back in the saddle once again.
Cheers to the BUG! The Blues Underground Network featured Carl's Chair as one of the best albums of the year, in the Not Necessarily The Blues category :-)

Howdy Folks.
As we gear up for the recording of SC5 (Hired Guns & Borrowed Glory), we were invited to go check out Garth P's studio. I thought our various audiophile mates would appreciate some audio-geekery photos for drooling purposes.

Big desk, big room...

Outside the control room, in the main studio area

heh - caveat auditor!
Great place, and just ike us on Saturday...a Lot of Mikes. I can't even identify all these, but I'm sure if I ask Geoff C nicely he'll fill me in, he knows that sort of thing.

Great sounding place, it was a pleasure to get a look at a high end studio thats produced so many big names :-). Research continues!
