Howdy folks, as promised, here's the first of the clips. Now bear with me, Greg did some filming for us but the video files are pretty humongous (ie: Big) so they're taking me a while to split and upload.
This is a clip of us doing Can't Tax love, I am offscreen behind the speakers (LOL, suits me fine) but you can see some awesome Keys from Jeremy Craib.
Today marks the first official steps on the road to the next album, at this point, untitled but as it's the 5th one, we're using 'SC5' as a working title.
How long before we start (or finish) the actual production is a Quantum Uncertainty (ooh sci fi talk!) but like all our stuff, it starts with a plan, which we then immediately discard! YAY!
That has worked well for us in the past and we hope our love of Randomness will continue to favour us.
Meanwhile, we're behind schedule on making videoclips for the previous albums (LOL) but what are ya gonna do? The songs keep coming and we might as well get'em on wax. I mean, Plastic. Hard drive. Whatever, you know what I mean.
This does mean that at the gigs over the next few months, new songs will be coming into the set as we keep Darwinianly Evolving'em! Will they live, breed and multiply or become evolutionary dead-ends or throwbacks? Who knows! Thats all part of the fun. I'd say 'stay tuned' but it's just too darn random for me to predict What's Gonna Happen Next.
Maybe we should call this next album Schroedingers Other Cat?
Howdy Folks. That was a jam packed last weekend between Rehearsal on Friday and then gigs on Saturday and Sunday. I think we're all still recovering from various cases of the local Flu, which has rather limited my blogging for the last two days. I am still processing the pics and vids we got from Sunday and hope to have a few up this week, quality permitting :-)
Nonetheless, its important that I take a moment away from Generic Cold and Flu remedy to at leats make a special mention and thanks to all the people and musicians who supported the Southern Fried Big Band's first endeavours on Saturday night.
It was a rare privilege to play in the company of such a talented bunch. Our gratitude goes out to Mike Kerin (Fettler), Jeremy Craib (note I spelled it right this time), Susie Hobday and Jim Finn for joining us on stage.
Also, we couldnt have done it without the support of Faye coming in to work on our sound setup. Thank you Faye.
We spent the evening in the company of friends and it was a dang fine thing. Stay tuned for some additional reporting on the night in the next few days :-)
Still recovering from a big night lats night, but well enough to say we're back on the prowl at the Penrith Hotel on Friday night and the Bald Rock Hotel in Rozelle on Saturday.
With the big band gig on Sunday I almost forgot we're playing the Pendle Hill Inn on Saturday night, from 9:30! Even better, Fettler is coming down for the evening to prepare for the Sunday Night session with the Southern Fried Big Band, so we'll have his awesome Fiddle Skills for the night.
