Javascript hack destroyed

Details
Created: 10 September 2012

Howdy folks.

Some very naughty people tried to hack us today just as we were releasing our first video for the new album.

What a pain in the butt.

Nonetheless we figured out what they're up to and we're nailing down the exploit.  Naughty!

Somehow, they got into our javascript libraries, files destroyed, passwords changed, ninja assasins of DOOM summoned.

DOOM! I say.

Reminds us that the web is still a little bit of the Wild West..

We're Back! Sort Of!

Howdy Folks.

That was a tough week, internet-wise.

I got spanked and sent home from the internets by a naughty hacker who took us offline for a few days.

Ok, more accurately, a naughty hacker used a security breach to try and run some naughty code, google spotted it, started blocking the site and whilst I was busy trying to stamp out the infection I kind of well...got a little frustrated...sort of...and may have...well...deleted the whole site in a fit of pique.

Ok, not exactly but lets just say it's goignto take me some time to put all the articles back up.

Oh and what a weeks its been, with the release of the first video for Hired Guns & Borrowed Glory (more on that in a minute), the completion of mixing ( I have it in my hot little hands), the redeployment of the website (well if we have ti upgrade lets see what other things we can add), a big weekend of gigging last weekend and another show on this Saturday.

Please bear with us as I revive the site and don't be surprised if you see things move around a bit, now that I have some new web toys I am going to play with them a little.

It's good to be back.

Close But No Cigar - last mixing session turns out to be 2nd last mixing session

Argh!

We went in for our final mix session today to review, adjust, approve and then export the tracks for mastering and wouldn't you know it, we found a click in the Bass track on Same Old Blues.

That means Pete has to go through the whole track and check it for clicks and pops (problems of audio/data throughput on the Tascam US1800 during recording).

Kudos to Rosie for Bat-like hearing.

Still, we got through 5 songs, well, 6 if you incldue sweet as pie, but now we have had to arrange another final mixing session for next week.

Hopefully that will be the final, final mix session.

ARGH!!! Just when you thought it was over...

At least the stuff is sounding good..

Weekend Gig Reports

Details
Created: 04 September 2012

Howdy Folks.

Gig report has been delayed whilst I work on the videoclip for Hard Times.

Still more work to do but its looking promising. Right, on to the gig report.

We had another good weekend of playing with gigs up North in Blacksmiths and the second of our residencies at the Taverners Hill Hotel.

On Friday night it was remarkably cold, given that the following day was the first official day of spring. 13c when we got there, 9c when we left, yikes.

Here's Mr Wizard and Theo jamming during sound check.

Our good mate Roscoe is back overseas and in dangerous places, so I asked the crowd to send him a shout out after we had played Roscoe's Boogie.

Keep well Roscoe.

As for the rest of the night?

Shout outs to Steve, Bernie, Jimmy, Adam and all the folks from the Orana.

On Saturday night it was time for our second residency at the Taverners Hill Hotel where surprising names keep reappearing...

A busy night on Parramatta Road, with a full(?) moon

And inside, the girls danced.

Cheers to Dave, Bob, Sue, Anna, Elsa Honey, the Little Big Bird candidate and the rest of the folks who joined us for our 2nd residency there.

Ok, that's it, enough gig report, I got a video to finish.
