Filming a videoclip for our mates in FINN

FINN launched their latest CD 'Bomb the world with kindness' last Friday night and yours truly was there to film it for posterity.

Jim always wanted to see his name up in lights, so we did it literally.

And for every on stage glory, there's a bunch of behind the scenes work, such as Tomi re-plugging connectors on dozens of power supplies...

Nice work Tomi, his band Bonez were the support act for the night. Nice use of phone whilst completing a task :-)

Dion and Ant were operating camera, big thanks to Paul McQueen for loan of the Jib.

I'll be editing the footage this week and I'll post a link when it's done. A great gig, a good album and a good night of production. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together in the clip.

Now all I gotta do is make some more for us :-) Lol

Building up the favour bank again so we can shoot more videos -or- Anyone want a Unicorn ride?

Once again I am being offered up as a sacrifice to the Gods of Owed Favours.  We make our videos when my favour bank is sufficient to draw down much needed help from our wonderful Mates In Production. (also when I have an idea we can afford, the pieces line up, yadda yadda)

The only problem is, ya gots to give before ya can receive... Right now I am mid pre-production on a vid for our mates at Finn as repayment for favours owed, which entails me owing favours to three other people, which then I then repay by acting as Camera Op for one of their shoots, and so on, and so on, ad infinitum (have mercy), in order that we can generate sufficient Production Karma that I can request assistance on our next video shoot.

(sigh).

On the plus side, I am getting to play with some neat-o production gear which makes me think of ideas for our next lot of clips...which will then necessitate me accruing yet more favour bank tokens in order to.....Good Grief.

I understand that when you have this thing called' Money' you can use it to purchase 'goods and services'. I think that's quite a novel idea, perhaps we should attempt to locate this 'money'.

It has also been explained to me that finding a 'Unicorn' is easier than locating 'Money' but once again, the boys at MJEB labs have come up with a brilliant suggestion. We find a Unicorn and then charge 'money' for Unicorn Rides! BRILLIANT!!

It's thinking like this that helped us defeat the Romans.

:-)

Hired Guns & Borrowed Glory reviewed by French Website

Howdy Folks, the new album got a review on a French Website.

Here's the google translation.

Stormcellar! A bomb shelter storm, a place where one is good, quiet, away from all the miseries of the world. This is what it feels like to listen to the fifth album from this Australian band. Good medicine that makes us forget the passing of time. Blues band, yes, but that does not in the classic and has forged from the first album its own identity, a particular sound with the song 'Hard Times' is an example. We must add to this (as is the case for this title) videos totally original without forgetting the very website provided. But back to the music. This album is made where the modern blues harmonica and dobro are present, certainly, but also you can hear the violin on some tracks to color slightly country. Lot of choirs (hearts?) Female, the Southern Belles, reinforce and sublime voice clear and asked the singer, Michael Barry, who also holds the role of harmonica. The duo bass / drums is his role to open a royal road to both guitarists Mr Wizzard which adds to its strings, banjo and mandolin. This album is uplifting and can be a great companion if you have hundreds of kilometers. To listen again without getting tired.

Big thanks to Cesar and all the DJ's who are playing Hired Guns over there. Merci!
