Hollow tree

No one knew when we were young

Long after the setting sun

Late at night that moon would shine

from my window I would climb

Turn the lock inside my door

Creep across that creaking floor

Slide out from my window pane

Where I go I can’t explain

They don’t know what they cant see

Take me down to the hollow tree now

17 and 21

Waiting for that setting sun

Late at night that moon would shine

To my window he did climb

Turn the lock inside my door

Creep across that creaking floor

Take my hand now don’t you fear

Take me far away from here

And they don’t know what they can’t see

Take me down to the hollow tree

Late that night no moon did shine

From my window I did climb

Turned the lock inside my door

Creep across that creaking floor

Found him down on bended knee

Telling them he’d marry me

Papa yelled and raised his gun

How I cried for what we’d done

But they don’t know what they can see

Take me down to the hollow tree

Gotta look after the family

Put papa down in the hollow tree

Put papa down in the hollow tree

Put him down where no one see
