The sun shines on

Summon my ghosts of the morning

Send them my early farewell

A catch in my breath at a ribbon you left in a drawer

But the sun shines on

the sun shines on me

the sun shines on me now

And I don’t feel a thing

Deep in the mundane and normal

Keep the appearance that everything’s well

Linger

over each thing that still bears your smell

But the sun shines on

Still the sun shines on me

the sun shines on me now

And I don’t feel a thing

Send me your strength of conviction

Give me this moment

a reason to bear

Another reminder that seems to speak in your name

But the sun shines on

Still the sun shines on me

the sun shines on me now

And I don’t feel a thing
