It was a busy night at the Royal in Bondi, with people out and about, enjoying the autumn weather.  We had a good musical night, after an adjustment to the set list brought in songs from the current album-in-production. Country Radio was previously a bit suspect but it appears we have settled on the correct approach and it went down well.

Dancing started at song one and pretty much kept up for the rest of the night.

I'm trying to come up with a term for the unique Australian pub dance that starts with some enthusiastic shaking and winds up on the floor.

I counted 4 people last night who started upright, got their boogie on, and then wound up on their back, and it's not restricted to men. I keep wondering whether break dance classes are regaining popularity and people are trying out their spin routines.

Shout outs to C, S, Terry, Greg, Gary, Michael, Chevy and all the folks who spent the evening with us. We had a great reception and people stuck around and shimmied, jived and yes, hit the deck, for the entire evening. I even had a request for some Backsliders stuff (oh, a connoisseur!) but I figured there's already enough of their stuff in our playing :-)

We were glad to be joined by Noodles on Bass and a good time was had all round. Thanks to Henry on the desk, we got a good sound and people kept sticking their heads in from the other sections of the pub, or from the street, and then wandering over to hang out with us for the rest of the night.

We're looking forward to being back at the Royal in a few months, meanwhile, work ont he album continues this week.
