Stormcellar at Old Bank in Dubbo, Sat 12 Nov, gig still on even if Apocalypse comes after US elections.

We're driving inland to Dubbo this weekend for a show at Old Bank. Maybe that's the safest place to be after the US election.

According to our mates in the 'states, election of either candidate spells Doom, so get out and boogie with your friends in the stormcellar before the apocalypse arrives down here.

No matter who wins, no matter if the end is Nigh:

1. We're far away enough for the gig to still be on.

2. We're the home of Mad Max so we're all OK with post apocalypse lifestyle living! MMM Dogfood good!

3. I'll be snarky if the world comes before we finish mixing the new album.

4. Even if the world ends, we'll still be gigging on the smouldering pile, as long as I can find a decent soundo.

Meanwhile chuck crossbow in the back of your ute and come out to a gig. Lord Humungus just hit 'going' on facebook.

Hey Sliders.

scandalpic1.jpg

I finally got around to doing my promised J-band blog thanks to Bassist Peter Crompton, who helped me edit and proof read.

Many of you know my personal fascination for Japanese Pop, Rock and Metal, with its no boundaries approach.

After a chat with Peter, I thought it was time I put some resources up on the web that aren't just copy and paste from wikipedia.

These musicians and their styles have influenced my writing a lot, and keep doing so.

I am constantly amazed at the skill, musicianship and passion the Japanese music scene has. We could do with a bit of that down here, in particular their audience participation.

The page will be updated as new acts come to light. If you have some time and want to see some great stuff, check out the new section here.

Keep on sliding.

Mr Wizard.

New Sets is good Sets! At the Townie this Sat we'll go old/new school!

Howdy Folks. Sydney's fighting the summer heat. No. Its's spring. No. It's cold. No. It's summer.

Climate change? Nah. It's just unusually/warm/cold/cool/warm/hot/cold.

Perfectly normal.

Where was I? Oh. New Sets!

We've been back from the US for a month or so and finally had time to rehearse the new songs from the unreleased album (forget that go buy current one, go on) plus some of the tunes from Kansas City Gold that we haven't brought into the set.

This weekend we're gonna do the old school song we wrote for Millage, plus his song 'Didnt even say goodbye' - that means two old school songs coming in. First time we will have had a 12 bar in there for a few years LOL.  Is it a 12 bar? Must ask Mr Wizard. Hmm.

Meanwhile, we're also bringing some of the other stuff from SC9 (unreleased) into the set.

That means adjusting the set for a whole bunch of new songs. It's Thunderdome up in here! 8 Songs enter, some songs leave!

Regular Cellar Dwellers know that creating a set list is quite the task.

Our preference is to favour the entry of new material. It keeps us fresh, it's risky and it's...er....risky.

With SC9 in the can, we did some quick maths and found 103 songs in the repertoire, 93 of ours and 10 covers. Now that's not a lot by Dylan standards, (Nobel, Nobob?), but it still means quite a bit of logistical discussion.

And about 4 hours.

From 100

to 70

to 30

and then Rosie adjusts the set.

Then we talk about it.

Then we do something different on the night.

I love it.

Will this new set construction work? Who knows! Let's find out! Woot!

KC Gold getting a metric Fuckton of airplay, 250 stations worldwide?

Heh. I so interwebs.

There's a wonderful phrase for 'Large Amount' that has come across my screen a few times, it's the Metric Fuckton. I love it as a unit of measurement.

125_350x350_Front_Color-NA.png

I couldn't find a bleeped version of an image and am too lazy to self censor today, sorry about that, we're so polite usually, but gosh darn it, we cuss like heck when we want to! Wonkles! Nuptials! Dill Pickle!

Where was I?

Updating lyrics? Yep. Done.

Mucking around with cheap-ass video clips (yep)

Figuring out how I stuffed the site formatting whilst fixing the calendar? (nope still fixing)

Oh that's right... well Flugel Me, KC Gold is getting a Metric Fuckton of airplay O/S right now.

I think that's slightly more than a Shitload, or a Big Ass Amount.

So, without Ado...

Shout outs for just the last week include:

WCNI in Connecticut

WVKR in Poughkeepsie NY

WGMC in Rochester NY

KUNM in Albuquerque NM

KAFM in Colorado (Bad Dog! Bad Dog!)

KTUH in Honolulu! Aloha! No Haole Tacos!

and of course ATC in Canada!

I did some maths and came up with something approaching 250 stations worldwide who've spun the album recently.

That's not including the airplay for everywhere Feels Like Home on AAA radio in the US.

So, if you're one of the brave folks still on terrestrial radio, there is an increased statistical probability in both this universe and potentially others that you will...... still hear 'let it go' from Frozen before you hear one of our songs :-)

I knew we shoulda got a snowman in the act.

But we is doing what we can.

Cheers to all the DJ's spinning KC Gold!
