More work on drums and arrangements, guitars. Some of these vocals are not up to scratch.
Setting a time limit is a good idea, there's much to attend to. Mr Wizard wants to finish up, burn the greenhouse down and start again. I pointed out that the greenhouse project has also seen brand new stuff arise regularly, in addition to the good stewardship of ideas we have collected over the years.
All things considered it's moving as well as you can ask for this sort of thing. I think we might be really reaching the New - how often in the past have bands been able to do this? To do this much?
In some ways we're pioneers, in other ways, neophytes and wanderers, mendicants, scallywags, hedgerow pirates.
Moving off the philosophical - we reviewed Big time in newtown (no action taken other than discussion), ditto Sad Thing (will get a new name).
The rest of the day was spent tweaking Yearning, Where am i, Don't lie to me, Solace and Heavens on my shoulders. I had to stop when my ears turned to oatmeal.
It's hard to remember now what mixing was like when other people did it. Zero complaints - we're doing different things as a result of this current time/place in music creation. You get the freedom by being free.
Also a shout out to our mates T and M in Space Engineer, Terry may be even more prolific than we are and he and Mike are producing some of their best work. He sends it to me and I like to take a break from what we're working on to listen to it. Terry has a remarkable turn of phrase and melodic ability. He and Mike have developed a powerhouse original sound.
Good times.
