Howdy!

Throw another snag on the barbie? – how about add another round of vehicular shenanigans to the Stormcellar mythos.

For those of you who’ve been reading our blog for a while you’ll recall that over the years we’ve had a few car issues on the way to gigs – some far flung (the gigs, not the cars) and some local.

From the time that Mal’s station wagon was stolen and burnt out while we played a gig in Thirroul, to me writing off mine ahead of a gig in Rozelle, to the time Theo and I were stranded outside Bathurst on the way to Cumnock to the time when Theo and I were stranded outside Bathurst on the way home from Cumnock. And let’s not forget the fish van that we took to Newcastle that one time!

Well it had been smooth sailing on the high seas for too long and it was time for the next instalment.

After a long intro, cutting it short:

Mr Wander’s car broke down around Leura on the way to Iron Fest in Lithgow. Help was provided by a good friend of the band, Theo and ze drums arrived in time for us to do the gig. The repairer repaired the car. We picked up the car. Got as far as Leura again and it broke down again. We left the car in Leura and stayed at a family member’s home in Blaxland overnight. Note to self: when leaving a vehicle somewhere other than in your garage … ie in another town, take note of the street name … it may prove useful later.

We found the car. Booked a tow truck. Had a wonderful breakfast at Café Madeline in Leura:

Waited for the tow.

And then waited for the tow.

And then … you get the picture.

We are hard on our vehicles.

Stranded band selfie:

Inbetween all that there was Ironfest:

Steam-punk sorta ...

These guys gave me an early 80s L.A. post-apocolyptic vibe ...

I've been watching True Detective - everything that is spindly and Southern and eerie is creeping me out a the moment. Dreamcatchers ...

Oh and so do spectres!

There was this guy ...

And this guy ...

btw ...

Yep ... Ironfest!

Cheers,

Rosie
