In the latest installment of Me Vs Entropy, we stirke a blow thus! Ha!

Take that!

Ouch. It's fascinating. Hypnotic. Must not duck smash.

Where was I?

Ah yes. The recordings proceed apace, with another scheduled for tomorrow night.

That will bring us up to...err...um...hmm lets count...err...8 out of 13, plus the one tomorrow...that'll be 9 down and 4 to go.

We're also scheduled to finish Slipping Through These Blues in the coming week, which will entail amongst other things, crafting a monstrous Frankenstein guitar solo from 4 very good takes that Rosie put down.

I spent today analysing the solo and looking for highlights in each take.

I started with a grading system of A meaning 'A GRADE RIFF', B 'GOOD BUT NOT GREAT- MAY BE USED IN PASSING' and C: "Acceptable"

By the fourth take I realized I had set by threshold too low and had to change the ratings to A, AA, and AAA, and B.

For example, when I graded the elements in the solo in Take 4:

SOLO  4

AA:         00:45-00:54

AAA:      00:54-01:01

AA:         01:01-01:11

A:            01:11-01:22

A:            01:21-01:39

AA:         01:39-01:44

AAA:      01:44-01:55

A:            01:55-02:03

AA:         02:11-02:21

A:            02:21-03:03 – AA with edits

Holy crap. Imagine what would happen if we took all the AAA bits from the other solos and linked them together in one passage?

Yes, it might threaten the very notion of of mans place within the universe.

I realise I have just blown your mind.

You're welcome, but I must rush, so many things to do.
