Howdy Folks.

Another weekend of Fine Playing and bad weather .

Bondi is pretty interesting on a Saturday night.

Once again, artwork and symbols of hidden meaning are everywhere...

On the way to the show, an omen?

I might add I even got rock star parking.

That's not my car. But it's close.

Very close.

The amount of technology that's coming with us is increasing. Yikes.

Cheers to Ryan for his help on sound. Also cheers to Harry & Ryan, Marie, the chap who brought me a glass of water mid set (bless your heart) and all the folk who joined us.

During the break, a chap came up to me and encouraged me to play covers. He explained that we had it the wrong way around, that we should be doing 3 or four originals a night and the rest as covers.

Not the first time I've had that discussion, nor are we the first band to have smiled when that's explained to us.

I get it. It's Saturday night and you want to chill out with some familiar music.

There is little response to this that avoids unwarranted defensiveness.

With the greatest love in the world, for the night we're booked, when the posters are on the wall, the listing in the guide and our banner rampant;

The House Belongs To Us.

That's how it's got to be.

We do a few covers, Dulce et Decorum Est - It shows respect to the Gods and our Roots, but we is what we is. Cow don't make Ham (blessed be The Zappa).

I have learned my lesson and I simply put to the gentleman in question that we would work harder to engage him with the music we were playing.

There are a multitude of excellent cover bands around Town and you can get your fix of them several times a week, or failing which, spin a disc Bro :-).

I made some mention of this via the Mic and was rewarded for my Hubris with a suggestion that we should play the Rockford Files Theme. Given that the request was from a long time Cellar Dweller and that it's a pretty btichin little tune, I'm gonna go see what I can do about that :-)
